What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is an orthodontic treatment involving a series of clear, removable aligners as an alternative to metal wire and brackets.

Using the latest in digital dental technology, Invisalign® can treat a wide range of orthodontic issues in both teenagers and adults.  Due to the technological advances since traditional metal braces, orthodontic treatment with Invisalign is faster, more comfortable and almost entirely invisible. 

How are Invisalign® aligners made?

The Invisalign® aligners are made with 3-D computer imaging technology, and with millions of dollars of research and development behind them, they offer an extremely effective alternative to traditional braces.

How can I make my teeth WHITER with Invisalign®?

Whitening gel can be used in conjunction with Invisalign® to give you a straighter, whiter smile, in a cosmetic, pain free treatment. 

Benefits of Invisalign®:

1. Aesthetics: hardly noticeable during treatment. Particularly effective for people who are conscious of aesthetics, who work with the public or for teenagers in high school looking for a braces alternative.

2. Comfort: by replacing metal brackets, hooks and wires with smooth plastic, the pain, ulcers and discomfort associated with traditional orthodontic treatment is improved dramatically.

What About Traditional Braces?

Braces are fixed orthodontic appliances commonly used comprising of:

• small brackets fixed to the teeth

• wires connecting the brackets

• elastics are sometimes used to guide and train jaw alignment

The wires gently put pressure on the teeth, pulling them into the right position.

Braces correct problems with crooked teeth or gaps, and with jaw or bite alignment.

Brackets are often metal, sometimes worn with coloured elastic fittings. An alternative, ceramic braces, can be coloured to blend in with the teeth.

Dr Greg Waters completed his training in Progressive Orthodontics in 2015.
